Hobble Creek

Thursday I played all day with Sky and Jenny's kids. We had a blast. We drove up Hobble Creek Canyon til I could remember where Candy and I use to go, Gaye I found it!!!! We hiked just a little ways in and found this wonderful spot where the kids could play in the creek. As Ryker said, "Grandma I didn't know you could plan such a fun day! Well Ryker I had a great day!

Steve and I had fun with Rachel has our escort. We wsent to this lake above and had a bbq. We, well the boys, Lilly and I went swimming, oh it was so refreshing, til we saw a bunch of dead fish!!!! Steve and the kids made marchmellow guns. The kids had fun with them, Grant came into my room one night and said Grandma open up! I did and he shot marshmellows in my mouth, no I did not eat them.

We went to the kids school and ate lunch with Monte, Grant and listened to Lilly's power point on Star fish. She did good. All the little girl;s gathered round Monte when they saw Oliver. It was cute. The hike to Eternal flames was 2.5 miles in and 2.5 miles out. What a beautiful canyon and walk. I have a picture of me at the flame but cna't upload it. Of all the sights we saw I believe this one was my favorite. We have to come back so Steve can ;see it. All n all I would say our trip was fun. Oh the fire flies were amazing.

I know I am a bit late posting, but I accidently erased most of my picture's, how you may ask? I thought I had made a copy at Walmart, but instead of checking first, I erased, then Rachel called and told me the bad news. But it is okay now, at first I was very upset. These pictures are what I saved, on the disk with most all our adventures. Steve and I had a great time. We both could not beleive how calm and happy Oliver is, he is such a cute baby and very content. Oh how I loved holding him and letting him sleep. Nothing more calming then holding a baby. He has the prettiest blue eyes and very long eyelashes. He is adorable. We did many things, I think swimming and riding and walking in the woods was my favorite. Lilly, Monte and I took a walk thru the woods and had so much fun looking for creatures, it began to rain and thunder and lighting so we scurried home, all the while Monte calming Lilly and telling her we were almost home and she would be ok. I loved teaching Grant how to dive and swimming with him and Monte. Sitting in the back seat with Grant and having some one on one talk time. My favorite treat was walking to Nina's with the kids and getting ice cream. One day we got our ice cream ate it then went to a park sat down and talked, then we heard the ice cream truck and so Like a good grandma, we bought more Ice Cream. I loved Nina's being so close.

One hot humid day Monte and I went hunting for bull frogs. It was so cool to hear them in the pond crokking away. Monte is the master at finding turtles, salamanders, frogs, you name it. Well we spotted theses 2 bull frogs and tried to catch them but Monte never was quite fast enough. So went rode home regrouped and out again we went on our excersion. This time we knew right were they were at, we sat down and waited for them to crook, then Monte went into action and caught one. We had so much fun. We also caught eaten by misquietos. I am telling you the East has the worst ones.
